As part of the school’s commitment to providing practical and experiential learning, the Senior Two (S.2) Class of 2026 embarked on an educational field trip to the Hima Cement Factory in Tororo.
The visit offered students an exciting opportunity to witness firsthand the processes involved in cement manufacturing—from the sourcing and preparation of raw materials to production, quality control, packaging, and distribution. Guided by factory professionals, the students gained valuable insights into modern industrial operations, workplace safety practices, and the role of manufacturing in Uganda’s economic development.
Throughout the tour, students actively engaged with the engineers and technical staff, asking thoughtful questions about the technology, environmental conservation measures, and career opportunities within the manufacturing sector. The experience helped bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world applications, particularly in subjects such as Geography, Chemistry, Physics, and Entrepreneurship.
Educational visits like these inspire curiosity, encourage critical thinking, and expose learners to potential career pathways. The school remains committed to nurturing well-rounded students by complementing academic excellence with meaningful practical experiences.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the management and staff of Hima Cement Factory, Tororo, for their warm hospitality and for providing an informative and memorable learning experience for our students.
