Mt. St. Mary’s College Namagunga is a Catholic founded boarding secondary school, established in 1942 for holistic education of the girl child and as such the school is guided by the religious principles and values of the Catholic Church. Our mission is to provide quality education to the girl child and inculcate moral values for sustainable individual and societal development. The discipline of both staff and students in this school is a cherished tradition and has become a password by which this school and its people are identified. Our Boarding Facility provides an experience for up to 1000 students within various hostels, The Boarding facilities are managed by the Senior Lady Mrs Rose Kabasinguzi, with colossal experience in managing girls boarding facilities and assisted by a team of other staff to provide a great experience for the girls.

Mt. St. Mary’s College Namagunga provides a nostalgic boarding environment in which social skills and friendship can be cherished with necessities made for students to cultivate and develop their virtue, academic, athletics, studies and leisure pursuits. Students have many occasions to take part in their boarding environment through numerous cooperative activities like Sports, Music Dance, Drama, Clubs & Societies, this institute’s virtuous patterns of collaborative living in conjunction with discovering and learning the values of living within a global village with a vast of ethnic backgrounds.
While teachers are responsible for the wellbeing of students, different departments work hand in hand to ensure a smile on face, wellness and safety of students. Our boarding section establishes mutual trust between the staff and student thus easy to go over.
Staff at Mt. St. Mary’s College have high ethical standards of professionalism, preference, parental care and confidentiality at the same time as maintaining a sense of humour and proportion.
The meals are catered for by caterers with a healthy reflective menu.

Through a variety of activities and, to the finest of its abilities, Mt. St. Mary’s College Namagunga Boarding supports equal opportunity for the girl child. Students should therefore be able to work undisturbed and have access to avenues of academic support, be it additional learning, teacher-led or peer support, whenever necessary.

Our Boarding is home away from home. We aim, therefore, to be an open and trusting community where a sense of our core values. Boarders must be able to contact parents, family and friends either in by telephone (available for students) and mail.

Mt. St. Mary’s College Boarding provides a vast of facilities and opportunities for its students: academically, in Music, Art, Drama, ICT, Sport and infinite other ways. These are readily available for access. Our school is sports pro to aid both physical and mental wellness. We also hold life talks on all aspects of personal and social development including alcohol, tobacco, sex, diet and drugs.

A high importance is placed on maintaining students’ safety around the school site and the vicinity. In addition to clear guidelines for students themselves, Mt. St. Mary’s College is covered by CCTV cameras with 24/7 Security presence manned by Uganda Police Force and a private security firm. The School bounds are defined within the Rules and Regulations Handbook.

VISTING.
Students are visited on a stipulated Sunday that is always communicated in the circular. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited. Indecently dress visitors are not welcomed (ladies wearing trousers, open tops, long slits, short dresses, transparent dressed, etc.) because it is contrary to instilling moral values.

With a new state of the art hostel block, Mt. St. Mary’s College Namagunga has a unique boarding system comprised of more than 12 hostels with the new hostel excluded. Our hostels are well planned and secure. They are monitored 24/7 and also equipped with fire extinguishers. The unique part of all is that they are managed by students themselves, encompassing all the cleaning and care. This instils self-drive within the students whilst such a clean school. For the same reason grab (eatables from home) are not allowed with in the school so as to maintain the beautiful environment.
