“We thank God for the gift of this great school and those that founded it. We also thank God for the many alumni of this school, who have contributed enormously to the development of society.”

“As Christians, we have a responsibility to put our knowledge and talents to proper use. The alumni of this great institution are also expected to use the knowledge they received here to serve the people, especially the poor, the marginalised and those that have been forced to leave their homes.”

Blume later asked the Namagunga alumni with maintaining the legacy and commitment of Mother Kevin by being even more supportive to the school.

The Prime Minister, Dr Ruhakana Rugunda, who represented President Museveni,  praised the Catholic Church for its commitment to girl-child education. He later handed over sh30m, which the President donated to the school.

The school’s headteacher, Sr Seraphine Amulen said that the school’s Board of Governors had designed a multi-billion strategic plan, which will effectively improve on the school’s infrastructure.

The function was also graced by the Bishop of Lugazi, Christopher Kakooza and Bishop Emeritus Mathias Ssekamaanya.

Dignitaries such as the IGG, Irene Mulyagonja and the DPP, Mike Chibita also graced the function.
