Breaking Ground for the New Classroom Block at MSMC Namagunga

Mt. St. Mary’s College Namagunga celebrated a historic milestone on 14th June 2025, marking 83 years of academic excellence and officially breaking ground on a brand-new classroom block.

The dual celebration brought together foundation bodies, administrators, alumni, staff, students and well-wishers. The modern facility will expand learning spaces to comfortably support the school’s growing student population.

The groundbreaking ceremony was presided over by the Chief Guest, Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa, Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Uganda who officially commissioned the launch of the project. In her remarks, the Headteacher, Sr. Regina Namawanuka, LSOSF noted that this expansion honors the school’s rich 83-year legacy while securing a bright future for future generations. Following the official launch of the project with a groundbreaking ceremony, fundraising efforts are currently underway to allow construction to begin.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Rt.Hon. Thomas Tayebwa for honoring the school with his presence and support. We also thank all stakeholders whose contributions continue to advance the development of MSMC Namagunga.
